La Trobe University Greek Society (LUGS)

ABOUT

La Trobe is home to The Dardalis Archives of the Hellenic Diaspora! Originally established in 1997 at the former National Centre for Hellenic Studies and Research, the collection covers a wide variety of subjects related to Greek Australian migration, history, religion and culture. With over 80 linear meters of bound newspapers, newsreels, films, art objects, photographs and other assorted materials, LUGS is determined to preserve this site and use it to educate the next generation of young Hellenes!

GREEK LANGUAGE STUDIES

La Trobe is the only remaining Victorian university to still offer a totally comprehensive Greek Language program (levels 1-10) as well as various Greek culture subjects. It is of the utmost importance to LUGS to ensure that the love for the Greek language is kept alive amongst our peers and the younger generations.
