HOW DO I JOIN NUGAS?

You can join NUGAS Victoria by approaching the Greek Club / Society at your respective university. This will allow you to fill in a membership form. Most clubs charge a small fee to be a member.
FROM 2018, newcomers can join via an online membership form, just click your respective university club on our site and follow the prompts!

WHY SHOULD I JOIN NUGAS VICTORIA?

You will never fall out of the loop with news and updates and always receive discounts to NUGAS events. Our most anticipated event of the year, the NUGAS BALL is no exception, and saving some money around that time is never a bad idea. By joining us, you will also build lifetime friendships with people from different universities, different backgrounds, but same points of view. We pride ourselves on fostering a great network with the Greek community of Melbourne and beyond!

WHAT RANGE OF EVENTS DOES NUGAS VICTORIA HOLD?

Firstly, we hold social events, educational and networking events of our own, encompassing all clubs and working together to provide these larger scale events. Secondly, we also endorse and support all the affiliate club events meaning the calendar is full all year round!

DO I HAVE TO BE OF GREEK HERITAGE TO JOIN NUGAS VICTORIA?

No, anyone from any background is welcome to join and help us celebrate and promote our unique culture across Victoria.

WHAT EXTRA BENEFITS DO I GET FROM JOINING NUGAS VICTORIA ABOVE MY GREEK CLUB?

Being the ‘top of the umbrella’, we bring all the University Clubs together and often get the chance to involve all University students under the same roof. This enables growth in both a social as well as educational context and ensures we form a solid interconnected web.

HOW DO I JOIN THE NUGAS VICTORIA COMMITTEE?

To join the committee, the team responsible for coordinating club activities and organising events, you need to be a member in a committee of your University Greek Club/Society first. You can then nominate yourself to become a representative for the NUGAS committee. Your nomination is then voted on during the NUGAS Victoria AGM which takes place early in the year.

THE BIG IDEA: Why NUGAS is so important

People that become ambassadors for change in the world and community heroes in their own right aren’t built in a day. It takes years of hard work and committed concentration to build something bigger than oneself, to work in a team, to grow a brand and establish a presence. NUGAS is an opportunity to do that, alongside eager, mature, professional young Greeks in the context of Melbourne. Like any group project or workplace there are difficulties and obstacles, but the reward is great if the passion and drive exist. Find your passion, find your project, focus, commit, achieve. This is a stepping stone for your greatest achievements, go wild, dream big!

It is an investment of time and effort and the introduction into a new world - the Greek world of Melbourne. It is so fun to get to know amazing, fun, like minded Greeks doing their thing across the city. It is these same Greeks that you will continue to know as you grow, and you will continue to rely on when you have needs. Being a part of NUGAS is being part of a family, one that reaches far into all corners of the city and sometimes even beyond.
