The Greek Australian Society of St. Patrick’s (GASP)

ABOUT

The Greek Australian Society of St. Patrick’s (GASP) at Australian Catholic University (ACU), is the cultural sanctuary and vibrant Hellenic home away from home on campus. Whether you are of Greek heritage or simply have a passion for Greek culture, GASP acts as a cultural lighthouse, dedicated to keeping the flame of Hellenism alive across ACU and the wider Victorian student community.

In 2025, GASP was initiated as a passionate effort to revitalise and strengthen the foundations of ACUGA. Our reestablished club is a dynamic and fast-growing movement, driven by a team committed to ensuring that culture and tradition remains a priority.

Our mission is to unite, inspire, and support the Greek and affiliate student community through a shared love of heritage and connection. Our core values focus on cultural preservation, philoxenia (the spirit of hospitality), student advocacy, and inter-university unity.

At GASP, we don't just host events; we create lasting memories. Our calendar showcases a rich blend of cultural identity and vibrant social interactions, featuring celebrations of important cultural traditions, lively gatherings, and collaborative initiatives. GASP is currently experiencing significant growth, with an expansion of executive committee roles and the introduction of exciting new campus events aimed at strengthening community connections.

Join us in honouring our legacy, respecting those who came before us, and carrying the light of our culture forward with courage! Whether you are Greek, from a neighboring country, or simply interested in learning about Greek traditions, GASP members will welcome you with open arms. We encourage you to reach out and become part of the GASP family today!
